As some of you may have have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! last night or have really good memories, Ive been thinking about picking up a Toyota Celica GT-S to relieve my AW11 MR2 from DD duties as its would be a bit more robust and up to the job of tackling the awful Philly streets day in and day out while still being a relatively fun car. It also just so happens that I found what could possibly the best GT-S that Im going to find, with a good price and is located very near to home for me. The car in question can be seen !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Its a 2001 model with 107k on the clock, looks to have been relatively well cared for and riced to a minimum, plus it comes with two sets of wheels and tires, snows and summers, and is listed for a mere $4900. I think Im going to have my dad go check it out and if its as promising as it looks and can work the price down closer to an even $4k I think I might have myself a new car.

I was gonna hate but really a 100,000 mile toyota for under $5k is good value & the MR2 will be your "fun" car.

Just make sure to get this for it!

MMMM 2zz sexy! buddy had one of these back in the early 2000's and it was a superb auto! there's a bit of extra cost and maintenance that comes with the GT-S but damn is it ever worth it! so much fun and such a quick little car.

Also, I'm sorry You have to live in or near Binghamton. I send my Condolences.

Solid cars. Since it's an 01, you're going to need to get it into lift in the test drive...the early 2zz engines had a problem with the flange bolts that activated the hot cam, so make sure that lift actuates.

Ah, ok the glen is a lovely little area. My buddy use to have a cottage on cayuta lake. we spent many a good summers running all over the glen. Same guy with the GT-S, I have not only seen races at the Glen but I have even gotten to push a 2001 GT-S around the glen! though I'm not sure if they do track days there any more. But if they do I highly recommend you get that bad boy up there if you do!

I grew up in Binghamton, hence My condolences. It was awful! still with in a stones throw to the glen though! just a few hours north now. I'm thinking about hitting up the 6 hours in june!

Theres something going on almost every day at the Glen, most are HPDEs which I go to one or two a year with my 325ci. If I do end up with the GT-S Ill probably try it at an autocross or two. And the 6 hours is a great one to go to, although this past year with IMSA was nowhere near as good as it had been with Grand Am
